Assingment

I had the assignment of choosing a trending topic in web design from a list compiled by the teacher and creating an informational poster about the topic.
I chose to create an informational poster about the possibilities of PWAs and how to implement them.

Design process

My process began with exploring and reading about the fundamental use cases and features of PWAs. I gathered my information in FigJam and tried to organize it based on some categories. In the end, I found that it would be most comfortable for myself to learn through questions, so I designated the subheadings as "What?", "Why?" and "How?". Additionally, I included a "PWA Checklist" section, as the basic requirements for PWAs are quite well-defined.

Next, it was necessary to figure out how to condense and articulate all the learned information clearly for the poster, ensuring it remains comprehensible and maintains readability. I also had to choose a font that would scale well and remain legible at any size. I opted for the Lekton font for the body text as it is modern yet highly readable. The square and technical appearance of Lekton aligns well with the theme of PWAs.
I used the Bungee font for the headings, as it is modern, stylish, and captures attention with its rounded and bold forms.

My decision was to choose bright and attention-grabbing colors. I experimented with colors for a while to achieve the perfect golden trio - Blue (#7796CB), Pink (#FF6978), and Yellow (#F9C22E). Since grabbing initial attention is crucial for posters, I added the largest block of color to the center of the poster.

I chose illustrations from the Brussels Illustrations Set, which is a free illustration pack and suited well with my theme.

My takeaway

It was interesting to familiarize myself with a completely unfamiliar topic. I learned a lot about a very important and growing trend in the world of web design.
