Assignment
We had the task of creating a redesign or a new design for an existing company using either HTML/CSS or Bootstrap. This website is a redesign of a hunting, fishing, and camping equipment online store artemis24.ee. I used Bootstrap 5 framework to create the page.
Process
I contacted the owner of Artemis store and obtained permission to redesign their website. I was not allowed to use images and texts related to firearms and ammunition exclusively. Additionally, the owner informed me that they would not be using my design, as they already had a contract with another web design company.
However, since the topic of online stores interested me at that moment, and I already had ideas for the design of the hunting store, I decided to proceed with the redesign for this website.
Competitive analysis
I began my work with a competitive analysis to see what other online stores specialize in hunting and outdoor equipment. After that, I documented my observations regarding the current website design and highlighted the points that needed immediate improvement.
IA
I compiled the information architecture and selected which pages I would start designing and later writing code for. I found the optimal number of pages to convey the user journey from arriving on the website to completing a purchase.

Low-fidelity
In low-fidelity, I focused on the content structure, also extensively examining the content structures of competitors to create a familiar and user-friendly navigation experience.
High-fidelity
The color choice was based on the original website, but slightly modified. The updated logo was using a free web generator.
For fonts I chose Bebas Neue for heading and buttons, for it's readability and robustness, and Open Sans for body text for it's versatility across different devices and screen sizes, readability and web-friendliness.
Writing code
I chose Bootstrap 5 for my work to simultaneously learn a new framework and save time.
My takeaway
Although the company did not use this design in the end, I gained more experience in competitive analysis, designing an online store and using Bootstrap 5.
