Branding

Feb 2, 2024

Assignment

The aim of the project was to create a style guide and social media banners, including post templates for Kirsi Design. The company primarily engages in crafting epoxy resin products and organizing workshops. The project duration was from January 11, 2024, to February 8, 2024, with participants being Riina Kirss (the company owner) and Kaisa Reimal (graphic designer and project documenter).

Slogan

The creation of slogans was based on provided texts and company attributes such as elegance, uniqueness, meticulous craftsmanship, exclusivity, and customer-centricity. Three initial slogans were generated, and Riina chose her favorite, "Iga toode on lugu, mis muudab teie kodu eriliseks" ("Every product is a story that makes your home unique").

Logo

In the logo creation process, the company's attributes and colors were taken into account. The logo underwent multiple stages, from the initial concept to the final design. It is used on different backgrounds, adapting colors as needed. The logo is circular, includes a border, two red cherries, and follows specific usage guidelines.

Logo iteration

Social media

Creating a unified style for social media background templates involved using a frame around the banners and incorporating a fluid illustration. Consistent branding and easy readability were maintained in the design of Facebook page banners, event banners, and business cards.

Brand book

A brand book was compiled, adhering to the company's colors and fonts. It includes logo usage guidelines, social media usage examples, and provides an overview of the brand's visual and linguistic identity.

The project received positive feedback, and all created materials align with the company's vision and values.

My takeaway

During the project, I gained valuable insights into client communication and considering client preferences during design iteration. Additionally, I expanded my skills by learning to use Adobe Illustrator and understanding the fundamentals of designing style guides.
